Hebron Francis Crain, retired Blackwell Zinc employee, dide at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday in the Arkansas City hospital. He was 75.
Final rites have been set for 10 a.m. Saturday in Roberts and Son chapel with Rev. L.D. Pitts, pastor of the Salvation Tabernacle, officiating.
Burial will be in the I00F cemtery.
Crain resided at 211 West Nash. He was a veterain of the U.S. Army, World War I, and belonged to Russell Litchfield Post of the American Legion.
He was born March 31, 1893, at Geary and came to Blackwell in 1929 from Stillwater and Hitchcock.
Crain worked in the pottery at teh smelter from February, 1941, until March 31 1959.
He is survived by his wife, Orpha; two daughters, Mrs. Noma Sue Horinek of Bettandorf, Ia., and Mrs. Nadine Brunner of Wichita; three sons, Glen Crain of Dallas; and Ray and Keith Crain, both of Arkansas Ctiy and 24 grandchildren.
Two sisters, Mrs Lura South of Indianapolis and Mrs Rose Linville of Ben, Ore., and brother, Norman of Battle Creek, Mich., also survive.

Obit : Orpha Frances Crain was born on September 28, 1905, in Fay, Oklahoma to William Arthur and Fannie (Abercrombie) Shanley. She grew up in the Fay and Eagle City, Oklahoma, area and attended rural school there. She moved toBlackwell, Oklahoma at an early age and later returned to Eagle City. She married Hebron Francis Crain on June 12, 1923, in Fairview, Oklahoma, and they settled close to her birthplace near Fay, Oklahoma. They then moved to Southard, Oklahoma, then to Stillwater, Oklahoma, and in 1929, they made their home in Blackwell, Oklahoma. Her husband preceded her in death on September 4, 1968, and she remained in Blackwell until 1991, when she moved to Wichita, Kansas. She later moved to Arkansas City, Kansas, to make her home. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Auzillary and the American Ligion Auzillary. She is survived by two daughters, Norma Sur Horenik of Wabasha, Minnesta, and Nadie Bruner of Wichita, Kansas, two sons, Glen Crain of Plano, Texas, and Keith Crain of Arkansas City, Kansas: a sister, Hattie Noll of Carthage, Missouri: twent-one gradchildren; sixty-three grat grandchildre; ninteen great great grandchildre; and one great great great grandchild. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Naomi Winters; a son Ray Crain; four brothers, Lossie, Earl, Willie, and Charlie Shanley; and two sister, Lola and Maggie.

Obit : BLACKWELL -Tthe funeral fro Ray Donald Crain, 70, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Roberts Chapel, Blackwell. Burial will follow in the Blackwell cemetery under the direction of Roberts and Son Funeral Home, Blackwell. He was born April 28, 1926, in Southerd, to Hebron Francis and Orpha (Shanley) Crain and died Wednesday, Oct 16, 1996 at his home. He grew up in Blackwell and attended Blackwell Public Schools. He moved to Wichita Kan., and worked for Silks Refuse Company. He later moved to Ponca City where he began working for Brown Tile Company. He married Nellie Theodora Meyer on March 27, 1955, in Perry and they settled in Ponca City, living there until 1957, when they moved to Arkansas City, Kan. wehre he worked for Crain Tile Company. He worked there until 1970, when they moved to Pond Creek, where he worked for Sooner Completion on a workover rig. He retired in 1983 and moved to Blackwell to make his home. He is survived by his mother Orpha Crain of Arkansas City, Kan.; three daughters, Mary Johnson of Oklahoma City, Shirley Rutledge of Ponca City, Connie Meritt of Cherokee; three sons, Richard Crain of Lamont, Gary Darr, Raoger Darr, both of Arkansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Sue Hornick of Wabasha, Minn, Nadine Brunner of Wichita, Kan.; two brothers, Keith Crain of Arkansas City, Kan., Glenn Crain of Plano, Texas; 18 Grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. ONE HURT SERIOUSLY IN S. H. 11 CRASH
BLACKWELL - Six persons, two Medford women and four children, were injured when the car they were in crashed into a guard post and concrete culvert and overturned seven miles west of Blackwell on S.H. 11 about 5:15 p.m. Wednesday.
Mrs. Don Winters, 29, Medford, was hospitalized at Blackwell General Hospital with a head injury. Her condition was reported as serious but was not believed to be critical.
The children, who received cuts and bruises, were hopitalized overnight for observation only.
Mrs Mildred G. Pasby, 20, Medford, driver of the car, received cuts and bruises but was nto admitted to the hospital.
The women's children, Ronnie Pasby (should have been Winters) 4, Terry Dale Pasby, 2, Tammy Sue Pasby, six months and Rhonda Winters, 2, received minor cuts and bruises.
Highway Patrolman John Bridwell said Mrs. Pasby was driving the 1956 Chevrolet west on S.H. 11 when the vehicle went of onto the north shoulder, hit the guard post and abutment and then flipped over one complete time, coming to a rest on its wheels.
The women and some of the children were thrown from the vehicle.
C. A. Hinkle, Route 2 Blackwell, said he and his wife were about a quarter-mile behind the car when the accident occurred.
"I didn't see the car hit the post but I saw it in the air." Hinkle Said.
They rushed to the aid of the injured and then other motorists stopped. Mrs. Psaby said she didn't know what happened to cause the crash.

MEDFORD WOMAN DIES OF INJURIES
BLACKWELL - A 29-year-old Medford mother, Mrs. Don Winter, one of six injured when a car overturned seven miles west of here las Wednsday, died in the BlackwellGeneral Hospital at 12:40 a.m. today.
She became Kay County's first traffic fatality of 1959.
Mrs. Winter had been in serious condition at the hospital with head and other injuries since the accident. The other five injured, including Mrs. Winter's two children, had been released from the hospital after receiving treatment for cuts and bruises. They are Mrs. Mildred G. Pasby, 20, and her two infant children, Terry Dale and Tammy Sue Pasby. and Ronnie and Rhonda Winter, ages 4 and 2.
The car in which they were in being driven west on S.H.11 by Mrs. Pasby, overturned after hitting a guard post and concrete abutment, Highway Patrolman John Briwell said.

Cratin C. Crain was born August 12, 1856, in North Carolina, and raised near Waynesville. He was united in marriage to Margaret McElroy in 1879. To this union were born ten children, 7 boys and three girls, eight of which survive. Two died in infancy. those living are Charles Crain, of Phonis, Arizona; Floyd Crain of Fay, Okla., Winfred Crain of Hitchcock, Okla., Luara South, of Fay, Oklahoma, Hebron Crain, of Fay, Okla., Rosa Linville, of Albany, Oregon; Norman Crain, of Fay, and Marvin Crain, of Fay. All were present except Charles and Rosa.
He moved to Oklahoma in 1892 and homesteaded just south of Geary. He moved to Hitchcock in 1904, lived there until 1920, then moved to his present home, nine miles northwest of Watonga. He died August 1, 1928, age 71 years 11 months and 19 days. He has been amember of the Christian church for the last 30 years.

CRAIN RITES HELD HERE LAST FRIDAY --
Funeral services for Mrs. Margarett Crain, 99, were held in the First Christian church, Watonga, last Friday. Mrs. Crain died last Wednesday.
She was born in Waynesville, North Carolina, on March 16, 1858. In 1879 she was married to Cratin C. Crain. The Crains moved to Oklahoma in 1892 and Mr. Crain filed a claim near Geary.
In 1905 Mr. and Mrs. Crain maved to Hitchcock, and in 1918 to the Fay community, Mr. Crain died, August 1, 1928.
Mrs. Crain was a member of the Christian church in Geary.
Survivors include her children Winfred Crain, Hitchcock; Mrs Lura South, Indianapolis, Indiana; Hebron Crain, Blackwell; Mrs Ross (should be Rosa) Linville, Bend, Oregon; Norman Crain, Battle Creek, Michigan, and Marvin Crain, Oklahoma City. Also surviving are 26 grandchildren, 51 great-great-grandchildren.
Rev. Leon Kidd officiated at the services. Interment was in Mt. Hope cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Crain of Tonkawa, Mrs. James Ditmore and son of Stillwater, Mr. and Mrs. George E. Sykes and Bryan, Mrs. George Sykes and Bob of Wichita, Mr. and Mrs, Chas. Van Duker, Rita and Sheila of Oklahoma City came Friday for the funeral of their grandmother, Mrs. Margaret Crain in Watonga.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Spaeth attended the Grandma Crain funeral in Watonga Friday, Mrs. Spaeth also called on her siste, Mrs. Kitty Cowen.

Hebron Francis Crain, retired Blackwell Zinc employee, dide at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday in the Arkansas City hospital. He was 75.
Final rites have been set for 10 a.m. Saturday in Roberts and Son chapel with Rev. L.D. Pitts, pastor of the Salvation Tabernacle, officiating.
Burial will be in the I00F cemtery.
Crain resided at 211 West Nash. He was a veterain of the U.S. Army, World War I, and belonged to Russell Litchfield Post of the American Legion.
He was born March 31, 1893, at Geary and came to Blackwell in 1929 from Stillwater and Hitchcock.
Crain worked in the pottery at teh smelter from February, 1941, until March 31 1959.
He is survived by his wife, Orpha; two daughters, Mrs. Noma Sue Horinek of Bettandorf, Ia., and Mrs. Nadine Brunner of Wichita; three sons, Glen Crain of Dallas; and Ray and Keith Crain, both of Arkansas Ctiy and 24 grandchildren.
Two sisters, Mrs Lura South of Indianapolis and Mrs Rose Linville of Ben, Ore., and brother, Norman of Battle Creek, Mich., also survive.
