According to the obituary of his daughter, Helen, John Moody Foster was a lawyer.

Helen Foster (married name, Helen F. Snow) was the author of "The Downings, Pennsylvania Quakers", that is in the files. She was nominated twice for the Nobel Peace Prize. She and her husband were journalists, and studied Red China following WW II. She wrote numerous books on China.
Helen also wrote under the pen name of "Nym Wales".

The scan of her book, "My China Years" was made on October 29, 2000, after I obtained the book from the Clark County Public Library.
There was no issue of her marriage to Edgar Snow. They divorced.
