Barbour County native, Ernest C. DeLAUDER will be celebrating his 70th birthday on February 3, 2000!
He was born on February 3, 1930 the 3rd son of Alma (nee MURPHY) and Darl O. DeLauder; grandson of Florida (nee NESTER/NESTOR) and Solomon DeLauder and Doretta (nee BENNETT) and Thomas Jackson Murphy. His ancestors include some of the earliest pioneers of Barbour Co. and surrounding areas - including BISHOFF, KITTLE, KNOTTS, LANTZ, MOORE, PHILLIPS, POE, PRICE, SHOEMAKER and STOCKWELL.
Ernie attended primary school in and around the 4-H Road area of Barbour Co including Sand Run, Sand Ridge, White Oak, and Valley Dell School. He graduated from Philippi High School in May 1947. And still continues to return for class reunions, whenever he can; he was able to attend their 50th high school reunion in Philippi in 1997
