Owen was b. 1 736 i n Ire lan d an d d. 13 Sep 1781. He was killed in th e Batt le o f Lind ley' s Mill and buried in Farrar Cemeter y nea r Carbo nton, N C.
He married Judith Pye in Ireland and they had at le a s t 3 c h ildren and they set sail for America. Two chil dr e n die d o n the voyage (not proven yet) leaving only C onn e r II (n ame d after Owen's father). They arrived afte r O c t 1763 wh en C onner was 6 years old.

Though Richardson Feagin was "an ardent patriot" he " c o u l d not fight because of extreme near sightedness " . H e w a s a 1776 Member of the Provincial Congress. (S e e Jour na l o f the Provincial Congress at Halifax, NC, V ol . 10, p ag e 52 1 of Colonial Records). He was Sherif f o f Moore Co unt y, N C in 1785. He presented a bill fo r esta blishin g a tow n name d Feaginsville (now Carthage , NC).
Richardson Feagin signed his will on May 7, 1816 , a n d i t w as probated in the Court of Ordinary, Jones C ount y , Gea rgia , at the August term, 1818 as follows:
"Will of Richardson Feagin
In the name of God, Amen. I Richardson Feagin, Seni o r b e i ng of perfect and sound mind and memory do mak e & o rda i n th is & no other to be my last will and testa ment t ha t i s firs t of all, I recommend my soul to God w ho gav e i t an d my bod y to the earth from whence it cam e to b e buri ed i n a decen t manner at the discretion o f my exec utors h ereaf ter name d and touching such worldl y goods an d proper ty whe rwith i t has pleased God to ble ss me in th is life . General Notes for Child George Feagin
When George Feagin first moved to Alabama, he settl e d h i s f amily, (wife, four sons, and one daughter) abo u t thr e e or f our miles northwest of the present town o f B rookly n . The se ttlement was at the junction of Bottl e an d Ard' s C reeks. H e established a store there in 181 8 whi ch wa s a fa irly larg e place until the formation o f Brook lyn ca me to b e. Soon af ter it's establishment i n 1820, h e move d his fam ily to Covi ngton County when th e former c ommunit y was aban doned. Covin gton County is o n the South east sid e of the Co necuh River , near presen t day Rose Hi ll. He an d his sons a cquired larg e land ho ldings in thi s area, an d were very pr ominent in th e ear ly developmen t of Rose Hi ll (see the inf ormation I pos t ed about Ros e Hill on the W eb page).
George Feagin's children were all born in Georgia , m o s t i n Jones County. His son's were: Thomas, b. 1808 ; Aa ro n , b . 1811; Richardson, b. 1815; and Andrew J., b . 181 6 ; th e da ughter Martha, was b. between 1817. Thoma s Feag i n m. I ren y in the early 1830's. Their children w ere: Ma r y Ann, b . 18 37; Emily, b. 1839; Aaron, b. 1840 ; George , b . 1845; S usann ah, b. 1847; and Margarett, b . 1849.
In 1839 Aaron (my gg-grandfather) married Sarah Ann Me r r i l l (my gg-grandmother), their children were; Suzan n a M . , b . 1841; William George, b. 1846; Mary E. b. 185 0 ; Hen r y Jac kson, b. 1852; Aaron Pierce, b. 1854; Jame s C olumb u s (my g- grandfather, b. 1855; Martha F., b. 18 57 ; Uria h Go nzales, b . 1859; Sarah E., b. 1862. they mo ve d to Tex as i n 1857. Aar on's (my gggf) brother Andrew , hi s siste r Marth a, and Suzan ne's husband, John Handle y mov ed wit h them. Ma rtha was give n three slaves by eit her o r both b rothers (Aa ron and Andrew ) after they go t to Tex as as a p arting gif t (These are th e ones that C athy Walk er has spo ken of, se e the posted mess age fro m Cathy Walk er). Afte r coming to T exas, John Handle y (A aron & Sarah' s son in l aw) may have b een obtained on e o r more of thes e slaves af ter Aaron die d in Sept. 22 , 1863.
Shortly after Aaron died, John Handley and Suzanna Ma t i l d a Feagin Handley moved in to help with the farm, t h e tr ad in g post, and the raising of the smaller childre n . Th e lar ge r children got there inheritance when Sara h d ied o n Marc h 1 0, 1863, but the smaller ones got noth ing.
Among those that purchased land in the area (Rose Hil l ) d u r ing the 1830 us were GEORGE FEAGIN and his thre e so ns, A AR ON , ANDREW, and RICHARDSON.

Samuel Feagin had no opportunity for going to scho o l b u t a cquired an education by himself; became a scho o l teac he r an d also a useful and influential citize n - wa s Sheri f f of Jo nes county during War of 1812 an d late r - serve d a s Count y Commissioner and Justice o f the Pea ce for a n umbe r of yea rs.
