Cherye's father died before she was born. Her mother die d of complications in the dentist chair when Cherye was only tw o years old. She was raised by her maternal grandmother which she thoug ht as Mom. Her aunts and uncles were her brothers and sisters.
Cherye fought breast cancer in her late 20's. She licked t hat battle. She was then diagnosed with lung cancer in the Spring of 1 992 and died in July of that same year.
Cherye's family have almost all passed away from some typ e of cancer. Due to the large amount of different types they are being i nvestigated by the Cancer Society per her aunt Maxine who still lives in Washington state.
