BIO: The EDWARDS' revised book about the families of Speedwell, TN, lists the fifth child of Benjamin W. and Mary M. ELLISON as "Chess." No data is provided in this source, other than a date of death, 1911. Compiler found Benjamin and Mary M. on the 1880 census for Union County, TN. The young couple had two child - 2-year-old William C. and four-month- old LeRoy. Since the EDWARDS did not include another William in their list of children born to this couple, and since young William's middle initial on the 1880 census was "C.", compiler has made the assumption that these are the same child, probably better known by his nickname, "Chess." There is no indication of a marriage in the EDWARDS' book.
