1. Abraham Moore was an early settler of the Lake Ci t y a r e a of Florence and Williamsburg Counties in Sout h Ca roli n a . He was married to Mary Evans, who is know n as Po ll y b y th e family. Abraham and Mary had six chil dren. Th e y ha d a pla ntation that was well over 2500 acr es of lan d . The y did ow n slaves as was customary in tho se days, a n d one s lave tha t is mentioned in courthous e records wa s n amed Bet ty. Abrah am bought her from Joh n T. Scott an d Sar ah M. Low ery on Jan uary 7, 1840. Abra ham paid $575. 00 fo r her. No o ne knows wh at fate befel l Betty! Was sh e use d as a "Mammy " or a "fiel d hand"? O nly the ghosts o f th e past know. Th e will of Abra ham Mo ore can be foun d in th e Kingstree cour thouse in Willi am sburg County, So uth Caro lina. It divide s up his possessi o ns between hi s 6 childre n and wife.
2. On September 22, 1821 Charles McAllister sold to Ab r a h a m Moore for $100 a plantation of 200 acres which w a s t h e so uthwest part of a tract of 500 acres grante d t o Char le s McA llister on November 24, 1790. This is r ecor ded i n th e dee d book in Kingstree courthouse in Wil liams burg C ounty , Sout h Carolina.
3. On June 4, 1835 William McKenzie sold to Abraham M o o r e f or $150 a tract of land in Sumter District consis ti n g o f 25 0 acres. It was part of a 1500 acre tract gra nt e d to R ober t Fullwood in 1791. This is recorded in th e d ee d boo k in Ki ngstree courthouse.
4. It is believed that the parents of Abraham Moore a r e J a m es Moore and Jemima McAllister. The parents of Je mi ma M cA ll ister are believed to be Charles McAllister a n d Cathe rin e G askins. Catherine Gaskins and Charles McA ll ister al so h ad t wo sons named Charles McAllister, J r an d Samuel M cAlli ster . Charles and Samuel left Willia msbur g and move d to th e cou nties of Pulaski, Telfair an d Wash ington in G eorgia i n 1826 . Their mother Catherin e move d to Georgia w ith the m and i s buried in the Mcall ister C emetery in Geor gia. Sam uel marr ied a lady in Geo rgia nam ed Sara McRae an d settle d in Washi ngton County , Georgia.
5. James Moore to William McAllister, for L 10 sterl i n g 4 5 0 acres purchased from Lewis M. Fullwood, on Drin ki n g Ho l e Bay , part of 1500 acres grant to Fullwood.
