He served with the American Forces for quite some time during WWI. He was a sculptor of some fame and worked for many years on the Andrew Mellon Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, PA, The Washington Cathedral and the National Art Gallery in Washington DC. His ashes have been placed in the Washington Cathedral where he did so much of his fine work.
