 The dates of his marriages and death are from his famil y B i ble, but another family paper says he died 23-Jan-1843.  He moved from N e w J ersey to Kentucky as did several of his brothers.  The BEACH FAMILY MAGAZI N E , Vol. II, No. 4, p. 203, says he had seven children by his first marriage a n d t hat the "First six died young", but the family Bible shows the sixth such ch i l d was by his second marriage.  It also identifies two other children by the s e c ond marriage who likewise died young.

 The BEACH FAMILY MAGAZINE, Vol. II, No. 4, p. 203, doe s n o t list her by name, saying only that she "died young" and suggests she wa s t h e sixth child by her father's first marriage.  Her father's family Bible, howe v e r, gives his name, and dates of birth and death, showing she was the first c h i ld of the second marriage.  It also includes a touching memorial which rea d s , in part, "In the morning of her life she chose that good part which coul d n e ver be taken from her.  She obeyed her Saviour's command Seek me early a n d y e shall find me."

BIO: Per M. Steininger:  James Samuel married 5 times.  His marriage to Celicia Allen is the only one listed in "Fulton County Marriage Index, p.715.  R. WILLIAMS was unable to find any death data in Fulton Co. for this James or Celicia. Ms. WILLIAMS did find one "James" Samuel MOW who died in 1852; but this would have been  before the birth of this James. Compiler suspects this death was for John Samuel MOW rather than James. (John was the grandfather of this James)  Later. Wilma FOLTZ located the place of death for James S. as OREGON. 19 MAR 1913:  James Samuel Mow "(unmarried) of Cornelius, County of Washington, State of Oregon...." sold Fulton Co. land on the banks of the Tippecanoe River to his brother, David B. Mow. 11 June 1917, James Samuel's brother, Ulysses S.G. "Grant" MOW named James S. in his will--"I give and bequeath to my brothers David B. MOW, Marion L. MOW, James S. MOW, the sum of One Hundred Dollars..." Wilma MOW FOLTZ reports that James Samuel is buried "between Astoria and Seaside, OR."

BIO: Margarett Steininger reports that James S. was married 5 times, but Celicia was the only marriage found on the indexes.  Per Wilma Foltz, Celicia died in 1948, but her place of death is unknown. It is not known if all 5 children were born to Celicia. Also, it is not known if Celicia went to Oregon with James S. A deed from James S. to his brother David B. in 1913 reads: "Know all men by these presents, that James Samuel Mow (unmarried) of Cornelius County of Washington, State of Oregon, in consideration of One Thousan ($1000.00) Dollars to me paid by David b. Mow of Rochester, County of Fulton State of Indiana...all the following bounded and described property, situate in the County Fulton and State of Indiana, ...I have hereunto set my hnd and seal this 19th day of March A.D. 1913..." Apparently Celicia and James S. were not living together at this time.

A single stone marks the two graves.  One side of the stone reads, Bessie" and the other, "Estella" and on the back of the marker is inscribed, "Budded on Earth to Bloom in Heaven"
