General Notes (Wife)

There is conflicting information on whether Elizabe t h , t h e wife of Edmund Farrington was of the family Mar t i n or N ew hall.

An article in The American Genealogist (Jan 1991) sta t e s t h at Edmund (from Olney, not Oney) married Elizabe t h Ne w(h) al l, a possible sister of Anthony and Thomas N ew (h)al l wh o ca me to Lynn, MA from Olney in 1638. The s ugg estio n is m ade t hat Elizabeth was perhaps Elizabet h Mart in wh o had ma rrie d a brother of Anthony and Thoma s befor e marr ying Edmu nd. T here was a Robert Martin i n Olney bu cks wh o died in 1 656. I f she was a Martin, th at would ac count f or son Edwar d namin g a son "John Mart in Farringto n."

I have it like Margery H. Freas, MARTIN. I feel she ma r r i e d the brother of Anthony and Thomas New(h)all befo r e ma rr yi ng EDMUND and was the daughter of Robert Mart i n of Ol ney , B ucks, who died in 1656. Her son, Edward d i d hav e a so n name d John Martin Farrington.
