Grandma lived to be 100 years old. We held a 100 year birthday party for her in Susanville. There were over 200 friends and relatives in attendance. Grandma loved it, but was really tired afterwards. As a matter of fact, she only lived a few weeks after. She left 23 Grandchildren, 42 Great-grandchildren and 26 great, great grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing and even sewed for the Red Cross durring WW2. she was also a life long member of the American Legion. Grandma (FESMIRE) married Sam when she was in her 70s. We all thought it strange. They were happy, however. She outlived him. Sam's daughter, Vergie cared for Grandma for years until she passed away.
