(Taken from the McAllen Monitor, February 19, 1988.) Everett R. Amsden Sr. Everett R. Amsden Sr., 82, died Thursday at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Mr. Amsden moved to Pharr in 1958 from Lake City, Iowa. He worked for various tractor companies in the Valley area. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ivah Bell Amsden in 1975 and his daughter, the former Mrs. Darrell (Marjorie) Nelson in 1973.
Survivors include 1 son, Everett R. Amsden Jr. of Sloan, Iowa; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at Valley Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Gary Hornish officiating. Skinner Funeral Home of Edinburg was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Amsden came to the Valley 16 years ago and had lived at 125 E. Ferguson.
Survivors are her husband, Everett Amsden Sr., a son, Everett R. Amsden Jr.: 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Services are pending and will be announced by Skinner Funeral Home.
