Floyd. Father- Monroe Bevil. Mother- Sarah Adelia Higgins. Informant- Frances Anderson (I think this is her dgt.) Cause of death- acute pulmonery edema, brought on by cardiac failure. Buried Rose Hill Cemetery, Tulia, 8-13-1956.

NOTE: The only Sarah Bevil the right age in the 1880 census lived in Jasper Co., TX, dgt. (as stated on the census) of George S. Bevil. Could not find a Monroe. On Ancestry.com, I found an Alfred Monroe Bevil, Jr., b. abt. 1849 in Jasper Co. His mother is Adelia Gilchriest. If Sarah is Alfred Monroe Bevil and Adelia, then they were about 50 years old when they had her, AND they already had a Sarah Catherine, about 1846. "Some Early Texas Families" has an Alfred M. Bevil, (Sr.) as the uncle of the George S. Bevil I found in 1880. Also, Sarah states on censuses that either or father, or both parents, were born in Arkansas. George S. Bevil states he was born in TX in 1880.
