General Notes for Child Arthur Grayson Trotter
He was born at King's Daughters Hospital, Greenwood, Ms. He was a Welder at the Huffman Manufacturing Company, Dayton, Ohio. People called him Bud. He and his wife Lilliam where building a house in what was call Beavertown then, and is now called Beavercreek, Ohio. At this time he became ill and died at a young age of thirty. He died from a blood clot on the brain. When I was going to Cosmetology School I had an instructor that told me that I reminded her of a man that she once worked with at Huffy Bike Co. At the point I ask her what his name was and she said Bud Trotter. I got a big smile on my face and said that he is my father. We were both very surprised to discover it. She told me that my father had saved her life when by accident her clothing caught fire from a welding torch. He had grabbed her and wrapped her in a large cloth that was near him. She said that had he not have been there to save her she would have at least been burned very bad, if not lost her life.
When my father would get headaches at work from the blood clot, she and her husband would hide him in the back room and let him sleep. They would cover for him and do his work, so that he could make money to live on. She said that he worked up until about two weeks before he died. She said that he was one of the best guys in the whole world. I still find it hard to believe that with out knowing that he was my father that she would say that I remind her of him. I never really got to know my father, but I guess that I most have inherited some of his personality. I hope thatsomeday that people well speak of me as they have of my father with asmuchlove and respect as they have had for him. I wish that I could haveknownhim for just a while in my life.
