This information is from John M. Green of Salem IL, b. 1845 (Civil War officer and Judge) He was the grandson of John Newton Green.  He had been corresponding with my G. Grandfather William Johnson of New Lexington OH in 1919-20, he was also corresponding with other relatives of William's.  I obtained these letters when my uncle died in 1994.
