From Bonnie C. Whitley, Draper, Utah: "Samuel Downing Groff had 9 children and only 4 daughters survived the illnesses of the day.  Mother and children succombed to Scarlet Fever), otherwise there would have been two males to carry on Groff/Downing Names." In addition to the children listed, there was apparently a set of stillbor twins, b/d in 1867.  The names "F. Groff" are given to both.
