According to Eugene Perry, Richard Grogan bought 80 acres oflandfrom Nathaniel Goss, Lot #164 west side in the 5th Dist., 2nd Sec.ofwhat then was Gilmer Co., Originally Cherokee Co., for thesumof$120.00 on 9-2-1948 Recorded in book J Page 144, Gilmer Co.,There wasan old log house on this ground as late as 1910 and acemetery a shortdistance from where the old house stood. In thiscemetery is a markerwith R.G. on it and a marker with the name ofSarah Padgett, born8-22-1881. Also a small son, Alfred Grogan isknown to be buriedthere.
