John is buried in an unmarked grave on George Littlefield's farm (per notes from Vivian I. [nee Kenniston] Conner). His will is dated 10-27-1882.
General Notes (Wife)
Helen Peterson Conner stated that after Lucy's mother died a cousin of Lucy (Johann Carver) came from Vinalhaven as housekeeper for Ebenezer, and they eventually married and had Jane Wardwell (m. the Rev. Eben Hodgden, had a large family and r. Minneapolis, MN - her parents moved to MN, too, where Johann died of breast cancer, after which Ebenezer returned to ME and r. with Lucy).

Her father willed Lucy Jane all his land on the north side of the Castine to Blue Hill road in the town of Penobscot, along with his residence and personal property. Her brother, Amos, was willed about 30 acres on the south side of the road.
General Notes for Child Solon J Hanson
Solon died while serving as a sailor shipping with cotton from New Orleans to Russia on the ship "Castine." - see death notice in The Rockland Gazette, August 19, 1858, which states he died aboard ship at Cronstadt (a port on the island of Kotlin in the narrow bay in which the Gulf of Finland terminates, along the shipping channel to St. Petersburg).

Amos had a reputation as a poet. He married Katie Patten (sister of Sam Patten) of Orland, Maine; they had Winifred (who disappeared) and Hallie (who m. Owen Soper of Orland and had Keith, Owen, Valentine and Albion). His father willed to Amos his land (about 30 acres) lying on the south side of the county road leading from Castine to Blue Hill in the town of Penobscot.
