General Notes (Husband)



 William Harper arrived with a group of protestants at Char leston in the ship Earl of Donegal, Master Duncan Ferguson , on 22 December, 1767 with his wife Margaret, son John (14 ), daughter Jane (11), son Daniel (20), son William (18), s on James (16): also Benjamin Harper, age 30 and wife Marth a age 24 with their son William (4); and Robert Harper, ag e 25 with wife Agnes and son John (6). They received grant s of land in the Wildcat Creek section of Craven County (th is area later became part of Lancaster County), South Carol ina.


General Notes for Child Daniel Harper Dr.



 Daniel Harper practiced medicine in Chester County in part nership with Dr. James Knox. He married the widow of Dr. Jo hn (Jean) Cantzon. During the Revolution, Harper returned t o Ireland with his wife and her children. Although warned n ot to return because of his loyalist reputation, he returne d to South Carolina and was killed by regulators. He is bur ied in Old Waxhaw cemetery. His will is on file in the Sout h Carolina Archives in the Chester County Wills, Book A, pa ge 282.
