I almost forgot to tell you about Don Norman's paragraph on the Norman's. I printed it all u p on word pad. Where you see that Henry and Louisa moved to Tyler,WV...that is actually Tiog a,WV where your Mom was born. Tioga is near Craigsville...It would have to be Tioga becaus e that is the original home place til Nettie and William moved out by the B&O pond on Prett y Glade Road just outside of Cowen, (Uncle Ezra owns the old home place). There is a cemetary on that land containing your grandparents' graves I think. U take care now.. Love, Mark

About 1861, Fritz was conscripted into the German Army, but like many youths of his time, he defected to France where he siught and received asylum. Eventually he made his way to America and to Utica, New York, where he met and married Christine Augusta Linke...
Fritz apparently preferred to operate his own business rather than work for someone else. His earliest known venture was a German Beer Garden locatedt the junction of Arthur Street and Seymour Avenue in Utica. ... through the beer and foodthat was sold, Fritz made his living. When the Westshore Railroad was built, its tracks ran diagonally through the grove and brought an end to one of thr pleasure spots of Utica's Corn Hill area.
Subsequently, Fritz purchased a building on the southwest corner of Columbia and Varick streets which contained a family type saloon on the first floor and living quarters on the second floor. Fritz sold that and bought a large home on Hamilton Street... . He also opened a delicatessen on Washington Street... which was called Fritz Heim & Son Delicatessen, since his son Frank became a partner. ... After Fritz's death on December 9, 1910, Frank continued to operate the delicatessen in partnership with Fritz's widoe, nis second wife.
