John Armstrong's regiment as a substitute forWm.Harrison.Rec'd 228 acres bounty in western TN. Served additionaltime underCapt.Salathiel Martin and later as a substitute for DavidPoindexterin Capt. Joseph Philips Co.. serving as a minute man in Col.Wm.Sheppard's regiment. He was given a written discharge in1771.William Apperson/Epperson and Elizabeth Kerr/Carr were married byCol.Martin Armstrong, a justice of the peace for Surry County, on June6,1771, at the house of Thomas Poindexter in Surry County.
