According to Dr. Matthew Wise in his book "The Bosto n F a m i ly" on p.380 Mary Rugg daughter of Furbury Rug g & Ma r y Co tt ingham married David Adams, son of Philli p Ada m s & Ann C rew e. Dr. Wise goes on to state "By hi s will s ig ned 8 Apri l 17 02 and probated 3 March 1703/4 , Rugg beq uea thed to hi s daug hter Mary all land "when h er mother d ies " (tracts "L ittlewo rth," "Planner's Adven ture"); if M ar y should have n o heirs , the land was to g o to Jonatha n Co ttingham (his wi fe Mary' s youngest brot her) and to A nn He y (daughter of Ge orge Hey) ; his wif e Mary was name d exec utrix; witnesses w ere Georg e Hey , Charles Cottingh am (An n Wills 5:173)

"Uncle" Bartley was a gentle man of many talent s . H e w a s actually acousin to James Hibbe r t and fami ly . H e an d h is wife, Edna, were deeplyin love until th e e nd o f thei r li ves. Ba rt ley was an expertphotograp her . Whe n he be cam e tired of photography as a hobby, h e tu rne d t o gemolo gy . He was an expert at faciting re al an d ma n made roug h gem stones. He made Ka re n a spe cial f acite d blue gem s tone w hich she laterhad set an d used a s a nec klace. His h o u s e was beautiful and h e hadgem s and rock s and mineral s dis played throughout.
He was retired as an executive with Ellis Elevator com p a n y . He used tokid about his job ha vin g it's ups a n d do wn s . After Bartley passedaway, Edna suffered hi s lo ss fo r t h e remainde r of her days. We werehappy i n a wa y to se e h e r pass on to be with her beloved husba nd aga i n. N o chil dr en were born to this marriage.
