1800 Census Buncombe Co, NC, there appeared:  Robert Orr, onemale10-16, 1 male 16-26, 1 male over 45, 2 females 0-10, 2 females10-16,2 females 16-26, and 1 female 26-45 with one slave counted.

Some land records of Buncombe Co. early = Robert Orr 150 acresgrant#1804, and in 1805, Robert Orr Senr., 50 acres and another 50acres.

A George Orr was on Committee to "select and determine a site forapermanent seat of justice, who shall locate the same at such aplacethey shall think best and most convenient to a majority ofthecitizens of the county, which shall be called Brevard and shallbelocated within five miles of W.P. Poor's store." (p. 309, PostmarksbyLenoir Ray.)

"The Orr family has been prominent in our civic and politicalaffairsfrom John Orr's day."

"Azra Orr was a Justice of the Peace and took part informingTransylvania Co.  George Orr was elected the first county clerkatthat meeting, and P.C. Orr was elected the first treasurerofTransylvania Co. in 1861.

"Oliver Hamilton Orr served as a member of the TransylvaniaHistoricalCommission, and Mrs. Orr was the author of a History of theBrevardMethodist Church.  Their son, Oliver H. Orr, Jr. was the authorof abiography of Charles B. Aycock."
