The Will of Michael Hohwairte (Anna Hochwaerter's father) In the name of God amen. I Michael Hohwairte of Frederick County and State of Maryland bein g now in a sick and weekly condition; tho of perfect mind and memory (praised be God for it) . Do make and ordain this my last will and testament; that is to say; after my debts are al l paid, my will and desire is that my beloved wife Catharina have and pofsafs the full thir d part of my estate, remaining two-thirds to be equally divided among my eight children, equa l parts. Moreover I will and desire that my house and lott shall be enjoyed and pofsefed by s uch one of my children (after their mother's decease) as shall be able to satisfy their Broth ers or Sisters for their respective shares, but if none of them shall be able, then it shal l be sold to the greatest advantage and the return or price thereof equally shared among the m as aforementioned. And I do hereby nominate and appoint my beloved wife Catharine Sole Exec utrix of this my last will and testament which alone I do ratify and confirm as such revokin g and disannulling all former wills, legacies, and bequests by me heretofore make left or beq ueaths. Then came Christian Geimert and Henry Cronise two of the subscribing witnefses to the aforego ing last will and testament of Michael Hohwairter late of Frederick County deceased and mak e oath that they did see the testator therein named sign and seal this will that they heard h im publish, pronounce and declare the same to be his last will and testament that at the tim e of his so doing he was the best of their apprehension of a sound and disposing mind memor y and understanding that they respectively subscribed their names as witneses to this will i n the presence and at the request of the testator and that they did also see Edward Salmon th e other subscribing winefs sign his name as witnefs thereto in the presence and at the reques t of the testator and all in the presence of each other.
