Horace was a veterinarian, having attended the University of Pennsylvania. He served in the Army at West Point, taking care of the horses (circa1919). He then went to work for the post office. He and Marcelle (Meister) lived at 5 West Holly St., Cranford, NJ
General Notes for Child Jacqueline Louise Homer
Just a quick note from her daughter Marcelle: I was the youngest child of Jackie's, and about a month before she died, she said to me: "You may not have been planned, but I don't know what I would do without you!" I spent the most time at home, and I was the one living closest when she was diagnosed with liver cancer. It was a difficult time, but what should have taken her from us within 3 months, she extended to 10. We were grateful. My mother was very good with those old fashioned sayings that passed down through the generations. She was a terrific Mom, a person that would do anything for anybody. She always typed my school papers, was always there when I needed her. If only I could be half the mother she was. She and Dad even danced at a church "gong show", just because I asked. The world lost a wonderful person when Mom died, but heaven gained a perfect angel. We love you Mom. Miss ya.
