Obit : Enid Morning News A.D. "DALE" SHANLEY THOMAS - The funeral for A.D. "Dale" Shanley, 68, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First United Methodist Church in Thomas. The Rev. Galeda Mannschreck will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery at Fay under tdirection of Lockstone Funeral Home, Thomas.
He was born Sept. 19, 1926, in Fay to W.A. "Willie" and Elma Roberts Shanley and died Wednseday, Sept 13, 1995, in Thomas. he attended school at Blackwell and was a state champ wrestler. he graduated in 1944, and served in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1947. He then returned to Blackwell and worked for Dowell 20 years. H lived in Enid from 1963 to 1968 where he owned and operated a Philips 66 services station. In 1968, he moved to Pond Creek where he owned and operated a service station. In 1977, he moved to Waukomis and owned and operated Shaly Ditching Services, Retiring in 1989. He moved to Thomas in 1993. he was member of the American Legion.
Surviving are one son, Mark of Woodward, two daughters Sheri Donlan of Tucson, Ariz., and Sue Ann Beck of Thomas, three brothers, George and Wayne, both of California, and Dean of Missouri, 13 Grandchildren, and seven Great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
