INFORMATION: Lived in Decatur with husband George who owned and operated wagon yard and blacksmith shop. After husband's death, moved to Gainesville and ran a boarding house.
DEATH: According to a letter in 1970, Bessie Gose, grandaughter, Grandma Roper died in Gainesville, but was buried in Bolivar Cemetery in Denton, Denton, TX. Picture of Susie Evelyn standing by three graves. Says on the back they are her first two children, Mamie and Robbie, who died of Diptheria, and her mother, in Bolivar Cemetery.
BURIED: Bolivar Cemetery in Denton, Denton, Texas Headstone of Grandma Roper was found by sextant, Mrs. Pat Marshall, that says, "Mother" S.A. Roper, 1848-1887.

MARRIAGE: Denton, Denton, TX, Vol 4, page 87 or 89. Was a double wedding between James Thomas Southern Jr. and Susie Evelyn Roper and his sister Sallie T. Southern to William Boles on 29 Sept 1890. Records say Mrs. but we wonder if it was misread. The marriage certificate says Miss not Mrs. (This certificate is in poor shape. However a copy is on file. The original is in possession of Becky Hugg, Amarillo, TX.
DEATH: Death certificate, State File Numer 6891, Registrar's Number 54, Dis 142, Las Animas County, Colorado
Obituary on file. FUNERAL: According to records of Mullare Funeral Home, Susie Evelyn died May 24, 1944 at the Billener Hotel in Trinidad. She resided in Branson, CO and they would ship the body to that place.
