Gershom Lewis in Guilford, Conn. He was b. Dec. 30 , 1 7 0 4 , son of John and Elizabeth (Huckins) Lewis, of B arns ta bl e , Mass. Elizabeth was eldest dau. of John an d Hop e (C hip ma n) Hukins. Hope Chipman was dau. of Joh n and H ope ( Howl and ) Chipman, and Hope Howland was dau . of Joh n and E lizab et h (Tilly) Howland. John Howlan d was the 1 3th sign er o f th e "Mayflower" Compact, and J ohn Tilly, f ather o f abov e Eliz abeth, was the 16th sign er of the sam e.
